During the current Coronavirus Pandemic, we face challenges that none of us have faced before. Wilken Family Eye Care is committed to taking care of you, our patients. We will be open for urgent and essential care following the guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Optometric Association (AOA).
We are taking every precaution, utilizing enhanced surface cleaning within the office. Social distancing techniques will be maintained within the office while you are here. We will ask that every patient with an appointment wash their hands immediately after entering the business.
------USING BENEFITS THAT YOU MIGHT LOSE AND CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTIONS------
For those of you who have benefits that you may lose due to the unfortunate disruption of the labor market, we are here to help you use those benefits before you lose them. Within the admittedly stretched limits of the standard of care and my authority under the Federal Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act and the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Contact Lens Rule, we will do the following, starting immediately:
For those with unexpired contact lens prescriptions who have had an examination within the last twelve months, we will dispense up to a one-year supply of your current lens prescription—no questions asked.
For those who have not been in during the past year and have an expired prescription, we will dispense up to a six-month supply of your current contact lens prescription—no questions asked. If you have not been in since April of 2017, we unfortunately cannot extend your prescription any longer, but if you are in need of urgent or emergency care, please call us.
We will waive shipment charges for these lenses with a purchase of at least 2 boxes (from the same manufacturer), and we will send the lenses directly to you.
Interested in working for Wilken Family Eye Care? We welcome resumes and cover letters from anyone who is interested in becoming part of our team. Experience is required. If you have worked in any area of Eye Care or other healthcare related field please send your Cover Letter, Resume, and a brief description of what you are looking for to [email protected]. Let us know if you are looking for part-time, full-time, temporary fill-in work, and whether you are experienced in optical, front desk, administration, ophtalmic technician, or as a doctor. We are always looking for qualified people to hire, and even if we aren't looking for someone right at the moment, it's nice to have qualified candidates to call on when we do. Thanks for considering us for your next career move!
